Hunted Prt5“Where are we going?” Jane whined again “We are tracking a werewolf, now shut up!” Trent bellowed. They had been tracking the werewolf for five days and Trent was starting to really hate Jane’s company. She had not stopped whining since they had met, when Trent shot her in the leg with a crossbow bolt. He crouched, looking at the fresh tracks in the soft mud in front of him. “We’re catching up” he said as he unlatched the crossbow hanging from his back. Hunted Prt4Jane woke to the soft sound of birds. She was lying in a small camp. Where was she… then it all came back, the ambush, the running, the fear, the man with the crossbow… was it a dream? She was in a camp; could it be the one her friends were in last night? Could they have just gotten drunk and passed out? She remembered they had alcohol. She slowly rose and looked to her right. Sleeping next to her was the man. She leaped to her feet, which shot pain through her leg and she blacked out. She woke again in the same campsite.
