Where are we going? Jane whined again
We are tracking a werewolf, now shut up! Trent bellowed. They had been tracking the werewolf for five days and Trent was starting to really hate Janes company. She had not stopped whining since they had met, when Trent shot her in the leg with a crossbow bolt. He crouched, looking at the fresh tracks in the soft mud in front of him.
Were catching up he said as he unlatched the crossbow hanging from his back. He looked ahead of him and noticed something out of place. He stalked towards a copse of trees.
Well if were catching up, why are you slowing down? Jane said confidently as she passed by along the track.
No! Trent shouted, but it was too late. A box dropped from the canopy above and landed over Jane.
Help! Jane pleaded. Trent started running towards the box when a shout came from behind him. Out of the copse jumped a ragged band of bandits.
Kill this one, one shouted, the others a woman, we can have fun with her!
Come and try! Trent shouted back as he loosed a bolt that went through one of the bandits heads and into anothers arm. He expertly reloaded and fired another a few seconds after. Another bandit fell. Trent started to load another bolt, but they were too close to fire at. He tossed his crossbow aside and drew his scimitar. He swung the blade in a small arc and a bandit fell in two half. There were only three bandits left. One of the bandits lunged forward in a weak attempt to impale its enemy. Trent leaped into the air and wrapped his feet around the mans neck. He twisted and a resounding crack came from the mans neck. Trent landed in a crouch and raised his head. There was just the one who had shouted standing in front of him.
Looks like your friend abandoned you Trent said triumphantly. The man shakily raised his sword and swung clumsily. Trent twisted his scimitar and the mans blade swung out of his hands.
Now, I want information, and I want it now Trent said as he sheathed his scimitar and drew a small knife.
Wheres the nearest town? Trent asked as he raised the knife to the mans finger. The man squeaked but clamped his mouth shut. Trent grabbed the mans finger and tore the knife up. Blood splattered the ground.
Wheres the nearest town? Trent said violently as he moved the knife to the next finger.
Its
Its that way. The man pointed of into the trees.
Is there a healer there? Trent asked again
Y-the man clamped his mouth shut again. Trent sighed as he moved the knife quickly up again and more blood splattered the ground, except this time he moved to the next finger and sliced it off as well.
Now, do they have a healer there? Trent repeated. But this time the man clamped his mouth shut and didnt say a word. This went on till the man had only three fingers left. Tears streaked down his face.
Im going to go on to the toes now, Trent said, tell me if they have a healer there! The man cowered but kept his mouth shut. Trent sighed as he sent nine toes to the ground.
Im warning you, there is only one more thing I can cut off, Trent said, Do they have a healer? the man held his mouth shut. Trent sighed as he leaned towards the mans pants.
Okay, okay, please dont, Ill tell you what you want. The man panted frantically.
Good, you finally see things my way.
